Prayer Calendar January 2019
Tuesday January 1: “Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time He may exalt you.” 1 Peter 5:6 Pray for God’s direction for the new year.
Wednesday January 2: “Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7 Pray that we can learn to turn to God when anxieties overwhelm us.
Thursday January 3: “Be sober-minded, be watchful.” 1 Peter 5:8a Pray that you will grow in your prayer life this year.
Friday January 4: “Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” 1 Peter 5:8b Pray for someone who is struggling, who needs to know God is near.
Saturday January 5: Resist him, firm in your faith.” 1 Peter 5:9a Pray for those who are struggling with addiction.
Sunday January 6: “Knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.” 1 Peter 5:9b Pray for Christians who face persecution.
Monday January 7: “And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself restore, confirm, strengthen and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10 Pray for those who live in war-torn areas.
Tuesday January 8: “To Him be the dominion forever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 5:11 Pray for Pastor Shane as he prepares to travel to India.
Wednesday January 9: “His Divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us to His own glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3 Pray for wisdom for the consistory.
Thursday January 10: “By which He has granted to us His precious and very great promises.” 2 Peter 1:4a Pray for the Food Truck Ministry.
Friday January 11: “So that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature.” 2 Peter 1:4b Pray for the Hand to Hand Ministry.
Saturday January 12: “Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely.” Hebrews 12:1a Pray for Wayne and Miho Jansen and their ministry in Japan.
Sunday January 13: “And let us run with endurance the race that is set before us.” Hebrews 12:1b Pray for those who are recovering from surgery.
Monday January 14: “Looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.” Hebrews 12:2 Praise Jesus, thank Him for dying for our sins.
Tuesday January 15: “Consider Him who endured from sinners such hostility against Himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.” Hebrews 12:3 Pray for someone who needs to know Jesus.
Wednesday January 16: “In your struggle against sin you have not resisted to the point of shedding your blood.” Hebrews 12:4 Pray for Beverly Reformed Church.
Thursday January 17: “And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? ‘My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by Him.” Hebrews 12:5 Pray for the children and grandchildren of our church.
Friday January 18: “For the Lord disciplines the one He loves, and chastises every son who He receives.” Hebrews 12:6 Pray that we may be open to God’s direction in our lives.
Saturday January 19: “It is for discipline that you have to endure, God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline?” Hebrews 12:7 Thank God for His love for us.
Sunday January 20: “If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.” Hebrews 12:8 Pray for the ability to trust God in all areas of your life.
Monday January 21: “Besides this, we have had earthly fathers who disciplined us and we respected them. Shall we not much more be subject to the Father of spirits and live?” Hebrews 12:9 Pray for those who are grieving loved ones.
Tuesday January 22: “For they disciplined us for a short time as it seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our good.” Hebrews 12:10 Pray for forgiveness when we deserve God’s righteous anger.
Wednesday January 23: “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Hebrews 12:11 Pray for the ministry of Beverly Reformed Church.
Thursday January 24: “Therefore lift your drooping hands and strengthen your weak knees.” Hebrew 12:12 Pray for those who are lonely or discouraged.
Friday January 25: “And make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be put out of joint but rather healed.” Hebrews 12:13 Pray for those who are battling serious illnesses.
Saturday January 26: “Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.” Hebrews 12:14 Thank God for His loving kindness to us.
Sunday January 27: “See that you do not refuse Him who is speaking. For if they did not escape when they refuse him who warned them on earth, much less will we escape if we reject Him who warms from heaven.” Hebrews 12:25 Pray that God will use Beverly to bring the Gospel to those who haven’t really heard it.
Monday January 28: “At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised, yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.” Hebrews 12:25 Pray for the ministry of Abdi Tadesse Mulat.
Tuesday January 29: “Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.” Hebrews 12:28a Pray for those working with Kid’s Hope Ministries.
Wednesday January 30: “And thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.” Hebrews 12:28b Pray for the ministries of Eddy Moo’s church and Elevation Church.
Thursday January 31: “For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:29 Praise God because He is Holy.
